About Ephesus, Ephesus Trajan's Fountain

The Fountain of Trajan was built to the north side of Curetes Street. In the 2nd century A.D. (Built around 104). It is one of the finest monuments in Ephesus. It was constructed for the honor of Emperor Trajan, and the statue of Trajan stood in the central niche on the facade overlooking the pool. The pool of the fountain of Trajan was 20×10 meters, surrounded by columns and statues.

These statues were Dionysus, Satyr, Aphrodite and the family of the Emperor. They are now presented in Ephesus Museum. The restoration has not been finished yet.
The Trajan fountain was built in around 104 C.E, it is one of the beautiful monuments in Ephesus located in the Curettes street.

It was dedicated to Emperor Trajan, and the statue of Trajan stood in the central niche on the facade overlooking the pool. The water was flowing from the pedestal of Trajans statue to the fountain The pool of the fountain of Trajan was 20x10 meters, surrounded by columns and statues. These statues were Aphrodite, Dionysus, Satyr and the family of the Emperor. They are now presented in Ephesus Museum. Nowadays, only the feet of that statue have survived as well as a part of its facade which had been adorned with Corinthian order columns. The restoration has not been finished yet.
